Welcome Autumn

There is a time of year in New York when, even before the first leaf falls you can feel the seasons click. The air is crisp, the summer is gone. And for the first night in a long time... you need a blanket on your bed.

Favourite Food

Packed with flavour and a bit of crunch,
This, by far, is the best food to munch.
Throw in tomatoes, onions and cheese,
Lettuce, salsa and sauce oh please.
Hot ground beef right from the pot,
Don’t eat it too quickly for its hot hot hot.
Wrapped in a pita or maybe a shell,
None of this matters according to Mel.
The taste is something truly to savour
The texture, the smell oh and the flavour!
For the second the flavour touches your tongue,
The bells from above have just been rung.
All the love songs now have a meaning,
Oh good gosh, you can’t stop this feeling.
“Give me another” you’ll shout while you spit,
Soon your jeans won’t be able to fit.
And suddenly you realize you just ate nine,
You’re truly satisfied, good, great and fine.
Though when you get up and feel your belly,
It’s grown just a few sizes way too many.
Slightly depressed from your lack of will-power,
You’d still eat them again in less than an hour.
They truly are the greatest food,
No matter which day, no matter which mood.

Time's a funny thing

There's an overwhelmingly comfortable feeling that rushes through me every time I hug an old friend. These are the people that know you all too well and love you anyway. These are the people whose laugh makes you smile. These are the people you think of randomly throughout the day - just for a second, just for a beat.

As soon as you see this old friend you can’t help but run into their arms and hug a perfectly imperfect person you truly love.

It's funny how no matter how much time goes by without seeing this dear, sweet soul - it's as if nothing has changed after you reunite.

In the words of Captain and Tennille, love will keep us together.
